Interior Decor Makeover…on a budget!

Having limited home décor knowledge (and patience) but looking for an update, I decided to do a makeover without any major projects (no painting, no building any nonsense, no big purchases). It’s funny, I can make an intense dough or baking recipe but give me wall stencils and paint I’m throwing them in the trash 15 mins later when it doesn’t work. Fool proof home makeover details below! But first, here’s the before:

First, start by moving all the furniture and cleaning each area, my essential products are from Method Home:

I used a base color scheme of turquoise + grey and here are my top suggestions for a room makeover on a budget:

{:THE ESSENTIAL UPDATES:}

(1) Pillows::: Thro has the biggest variety of pillows, I chose their silver sequined design and found some huge white pillows online, $2 mini turquoise ones and a $7 quote pillow (you’ll see those in the “after” photo at the bottom)

(2) Storage Basket::: Colonial Mills Basket in turquoise is the quickest way to hide any magazines and books

(3) Vase with Eucalyptus or Fresh Flowers::: Jill Rosenwald Vase – I love eucalyptus it’s one of my favorite scents ever and it pairs very nicely with the cases crafted by Jill. I’m obsessed with her entire website/style, I can only dream of having so much talent! And I love that her vases are signed, this would also make a fabulous gift.

(4) Canvas paintings::: iCanvas is the best source online for finding a big variety of canvas prints at fantastic prices. Of course I picked a coffee-inspired print! I also picked a yellow/turquoise one that went with my theme, but if you browse their site you’re sure to find a good match its just hard to decide:

(5) Rugs on Sale::: Theres a great variety of 5 X 7 rugs online, and I found a grey trellis on sale for $60. Never pay full price  in this area there’s always a sale!

(6) Curtains::: Kenzie curtains in “Caitlin” a bold turquoise ikat pattern, guess th name of the design was meant!

(7) Candles and notebooks/functional extras::: and diffusers, I usually use an oil diffuser with eucalyptus. My favorite piece is this black and white striped Day Designer it’s so pretty, I’m scared to use it but it’s very detailed and serves as a great spot to write down reminders:

(8) Gallery Wall::: See my separate post on DIY Framed Photos to get the scoop on how I accomplished this

FINAL REVEAL…using all of the elements above and taking into account that I am far from being anything close to Joanna Gaines – I didn’t do so bad (and I was asked by Nana to add in a disclaimer that she played a big role in the photo hanging):
